Hunting With A Suppressor In Georgia
While it may still be banned in some states, it is now legal to be out in the field and hunting with a suppressor in Georgia.
On July 1st 2014 a new law in Georgia went into effect legalizing the use of a suppressor while hunting.
Backed by the American Silencer Association and sponsored by Senator Bill Heath Senate Bill 93 was passed with bipartisan support. This bill repealed the prohibition of being able to use a silencer while hunting.
There are certain restrictions put into place as to where one may legally use a silencer for hunting. Also note that all other hunting laws still apply when using a silencer. Be sure to check out the rules and regulations at the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
Please note that suppressors are regulated under the National Firearms Act (NFA).
